Altenburg Piano House

The Altenburg Piano House was founded in 1847 and remains the oldest family-run piano business in the United States. Altenburg has established a reputation as the premiere destination for lovers of fine instruments seeking the most reasonable fine piano prices obtainable. The passion for fine pianos and their tradition of personalized service have proven to be Altenburg's most enduring legacies.
 
Belcher-Ogden Mansion

his historic mansion that dates back to the 1600s was once the residence of Royal Governor Jonathan Belcher, who lived there from 1751 to 1757. It was the site of many gatherings of prominent pioneers, including George Whitefield and Jonathan Edwards. Dubbed "the cradle of Princeton University, it also served as the residence of William Peartree Smith and Gov. Aaron Ogden.
 
The Bonnell House

Built prior to 1682 by Nathaniel Bonnell, the Bonnell House is believed to be the oldest house in Elizabeth. The two-story clapboard structure was built on 6 acres of land which Bonnell was granted for a homestead.
 
Boxwood Hall

Boxwood Hall was built around 1750 and was the former residence of Elias Boudinot - president of the Continental Congress who signed the treaty of peace with Great Britain at the close of the Revolution. The house later became the home of Jonathan Dayton, the youngest signer of the Constitution. The home is most famous for the visit George Washington paid to his friend Boudinot here in 1789 on his way to New York for his first inauguration.
 
First Presbyterian Church

The First Presbyterian Church was built in 1668 and was the site of an important battleground during the Revolutionary War. The church was the first house of worship in the settlement of Elizabethtown. Burned by British and Loyalist forces in 1780 during the American Revolution, the church was rebuilt in 1786.
 
Hersh Tower

Built during the height of the Depression, the 14-story structure is not only the tallest building in Elizabeth, but also is the highest building in Union County. Built in a historic Art Deco style, the building's fasade is made of brick, marble and nickel, and its lobby features marble walls.
 
St. John's Episcopal Church

Founded in 1706, the church is known for its features, including stained glass, rich wood work and a cemetery. St. John's Episcopal Church is known as one of the oldest Episcopal Churches in America. Members of the church's congregation stem from different backgrounds and cultures. St. John's Episcopal church has a Sunday school and a full Spanish Mass/Eucharist service.
 
Saint Patrick's Church
