Remember Me is a weekend of world premiere dances produced by ReFrame Dance Theatre and the Rahway Arts + Business Partnership
About this event
ReFrame Dance Theatre and the Rahway Arts + Business Partnership Present: Remember Me, a dance born from an un-ironic conversation between 20-somethings about how we want to be remembered as artists, friends, and people. This dance about how we hold onto the parts of ourselves that are important to us finds its groove in the creases of our reminiscence and imaginations. Our memories make us who we are, and it is memory that turns daisies on a perfect day into roses. It is also our memory that remembers all the lyrics wrong- c'est la vie!
Given the collaborative nature of the choreographic process, the dancers were invited to present their own premiere choreography. Bailey Benoot’s Junkyard Guitars casts three dancers as the embodiment of a strum, navigating the space within and between the notes. Grammar of Space, a collaboration between Benoot and Charly Santigado, is a physical investigation of dance that blends the dancer’s virtuosity with the stage as grammatical structure.
This FREE, outdoor performance is part Rahway's Dance Pop-Up series and follows social distancing guidelines. Please bring your own seating.
The whole evening runs ~1 Hour; Join us on Saturday 6/19 for a facilitated talk-back with the choreographers to ask all the questions you could ever have.
Please consider making a donation in support of the participating artists at our fundraising page so we can continue to offer free performance programming
