Driving from Elizabeth to Newark Liberty International Airport

It’s only about a 10-minute drive from downtown Elizabeth to Newark Airport. If you’re dropping someone off, head straight to their terminal. If you're catching a flight or waiting for an arrival, follow the signs to the appropriate parking area for your needs.

Take the Bus for a Direct Route

Hop on NJ Transit Bus 62 for a convenient, affordable ride straight to Newark Airport. Board at E Jersey St at East Scott Place in Elizabeth and arrive at Terminal B in about 23 minutes. The bus runs every 20 minutes, every day, and serves all terminals. Just look for signage for Route 62 toward Newark Penn Station / Newark Airport All Terminals-Exact Fare.

Getting Around the Airport with AirTrain

Once you're at the airport, the AirTrain is the easiest way to navigate between terminals, rental cars, parking areas, and shuttles. Travel times from Newark Liberty International Airport Train Stations vary depending on the terminal: approximately 7 minutes to Terminal C, 11 minutes to Terminal B, and 20 minutes to Terminal A.

While the AirTrain does not connect directly to Terminal A, passengers can take a complimentary shuttle bus or walk from the Terminal A Station. AirTrain service is free within the airport, and for those connecting via NJ TRANSIT or Amtrak, the access fee at Newark Liberty International Airport Train Station is included in your train fare, otherwise the cost is $8.50.
