Many of the city’s annual events are held downtown at City Hall including Tour de Elizabeth, Peruvian Parade, Juneteenth, and Miracle on Winfield Scott.

Midtown

Broad Street has been the commercial center of Midtown for generations, predating The Mills as the city's go-to shopping destination. Today it's home to local shops for adults, children, and home goods, a fresh juice bar at Pulp Jersey, barbershops, City Hall, and the police station. The Ritz Theatre hosts concerts and performances throughout the year.

Historic Elizabeth Avenue

Keep an eye out for the neighborhood's Minute Man Statue at Union Square, a proud landmark of Elizabeth's Revolutionary War legacy.

The event calendar keeps Elizabeth Avenue busy year-round. Celebrate the season at the annual Christmas Tree Lighting or Halloween on the Square, dance through Hispanic Heritage Month at the Salsa Stroll, and step back in time at the Revolutionary War Reenactment. Every summer, the avenue also pays homage to National Hot Dog Day with Tommy's Italian Hot Dogs and Jerry's Famous Frankfurters.

Elmora

Elizabethport (E-Port)

Elizabethport is a walkable Elizabeth, NJ neighborhood featuring restaurants, markets, and a waterfront park that makes exploration easy and rewarding.

Fans of The Sopranos will rejoice here with Del Porto Ristorante, the filming location for Vesuvio’s restaurant. Beyond this iconic restaurant, you'll discover El Tiburon, Olga's Place, bakeries, and pizza shops around every corner.

Head north to The Mills at Jersey Gardens and IKEA to watch a movie and go shopping, or visit Veterans Memorial Waterfront Park to walk along the boardwalk and watch fishing boats and cargo ships dock at the marina. The park is also home to the city’s annual 4th of July Fireworks.

Peterstown

Peterstown is one of Elizabeth's most storied neighborhoods, rooted in Italian and Latin American heritage. Every year, the Peterstown Cultural Festival transforms the streets into a feast of zeppoles, sausage and peppers, and brick oven pizza.

Find fresh produce and artisan goods at the Peterstown Farmers’ Market held at Union Square every Tuesday, July through November. Restaurants can be found throughout the neighborhood including the long-standing John’s Caffé Pizza & Caterers and Sacco’s, a butcher shop and deli featured in the Netflix movie Nonnas.

Bayway
